Commant

I like this story. It's pretty funny. Not to mention the characters are very strange...someone on the police force should eventually say to the girl with the sword, "Wait I just realized that sword's aren't police issue how did you get a permit for that?"

@SpartanCommander:
Just wait until i show a few more of the cops around and the sword will look very normal by comparison. =P

swords

SpartanCommander (Guest) March 1st, 2012, 11:09 am

@Jops: Like one of those massive swords you see in anime's and games but unfortionally their so heavy in reality that it's to heavy to lift off the ground and your more likely to miss anyone swinging those monstroceites that anything else.

@SpartanCommander:
No, not really.
I'm trying to have the setting reflect a European city, even with all its quirks and strangeness. So, I'm digging from your classic medieval fantasy with bettleaxes and warhammers, rather than going for oversized blades of Japanese influence.

medival weapons

SpartanCommander (Guest) March 2nd, 2012, 10:26 am

@Jops: Well their are a large variety of medival weapons.

Also their are pro's and cons to both European and Japanese weapons. One large advantage European Swords have over kitana's is that European swords are much stronger made and I saw someone test to see which was stronger and the european broadsword cut the kitana in two.

Also their are alot of different european medival weapons, Pikes, man trap (one specifically designed to capture someone alive)...nuts I forgot the rest but their are alot of different weapons there.

@SpartanCommander:
Well, the choice of weaponry in this comic will be always dictated by style and fashion over any actual practicability.
I'm just not keen on having anyone emulate Cloud from Final Fantasy.

ok

SpartanCommander (Guest) March 2nd, 2012, 11:26 am

@Jops: That's a good idea. Also if your thinking of the mantrap...well it's an actual weapon and actually pretty much ingenious in it's design to capture people.

C'mon, it says right in the title: No Guns.

And I really like this explanation for how things end up in your dreams.

@Durvin:
...and the quality of your dreams really depends on the janitor you hired. ^^

Weaponry

Scott's Folly (Guest) June 15th, 2012, 2:24 pm

Given that the Police have a couple of pike-axes mounted to the walls of their offices, I wouldn't rule out anything. Just because the ones we've seen don't have obvious 'personal weapons' like Mika, doesn't mean they're not packing something impressive and pocket-sized.
Mediaeval Europe does have its share of massive swords, but the fact that they were either ceremonial or intended for use against horses probably rules them out for this setting.
